Just because I skipped to welcome ya’ll to April 2017 plus a wonderful journey on the second quarter of the year. Well, for someone like me that does not stay at home to watch TVs because I feel it’s a total waste of time,ok ok i'm not trying to be a hypocrite here, i'd rather sleep. I now see myself sitting on a couch for hours watching the BBN(big brother naija) just like everyone is, praying and voting for a particular person of choice to win. Before this, if I must watch TVs, it should be a cartoon network. Yes! I said it.
I love cartoons and I don’t think I can out-grow it. While growing up, some of my favorites were ofcourse : Tom and Jerry, Looney-Tunes, Scooby-Doo and Mickey Mouse well known for wearing a Polka Dot dress and matching bow tie.
Lets get down to talk of the day.
The word ‘Polka’ itself is derived from the polish for ‘PolishWoman’- in Czech, which translates to ‘Little Woman or Girl’.
Like I would always say, “fashion/style is a revolution, it evolves”. Quote me anywhere. and just like the Wrap Dress, Polka Dots are a comeback. We wear them, we inherit their complicated legacy from the women that has styled them in the past.
The cartoonish print Polka Dots are not all feminine after-all, polka dots has been applied to brogues, shirts, tees and wallets for the men’s fashion items. However, polka dots need not be emasculating, it only signifies that men who wear polka dots pay attention to fashion, they are fashion focused.
Always remember that the clothes we wear transmit a message which only tells how much we are into fashion and trends. On the other hand, Polka Dots have a plan to make women look extravagant, romantic and eyelash-batting. So as a polka dot lover, speak through them rather than letting them speak to you.
