Hello lovelies,

It’s only a few hours left before the year draws it’s curtains closed, all dreams and plans for 2017 is shut down as well hence, brought into the next year. Did i wish you a merry christmas? well here, merry christmas and a prospeous new year ahead.

This year especially for us in Nigeria, economically and security wise wasn’t as amazing as we needed it to be, but as a people, we should not lose hope but rather anticipate a better year ahead.

There have not been much happenings in my life especially for 2017 but for life, I couldn’t have asked for anything better. I’ll love to say thank you all for an amazing year together. Ya’ll that supported/indulged in my little growing space, readers, subscribers, followers, Luchydresshouse family, you guys have been awesome.

As the title suggests, here’s a Wrap Up -2017 and 2018 in view:

My Life: The first lap started quite slow, especially as there was nothing to do for a fresh graduate, and then the NYSC came up, this was and is still the biggest deal for me in 2017. And even though this was my ultimate goal for the year, I had planned to undertake some tasks during my NYSC

2018 to-do list

On The Blog: Not much adjustments were made on the blog neither did I have much inspirations considering the one year scheme i'm into. Like, hey! I teach (place of primary assignment) prepare lesson notes for eleven classes, all thanks to NYSC. Nevertheless, more aspirations, targets and expectations in 2018.

Lately, I’ve been thinking and scribbling down some things I want to get done next year and also some habits to leave behind in 2017. So if you are like me and haven’t accomplished some things you planned for 2017, don’t lose hope, you could include them in your 2018 to-do list and work towards achieving them. It’s better late than never.

YOUR FASHION COULD BE A BLUNDER

Hello Lovelies,

This month_August is a very special one for me, especially as my blog would be turning one. Although little has been achieved, but with consistency and hard work we’ll get there. After-all anything worth doing is worth doing well.

Moving over to today’s post. virtually everyone is into fashion_buying clothes, shoes, makeup, jewelries, that to me is fashion. But on the hand, not everyone really knows how to combine to fit and look good, responsible and classy.

“Fashion is a form of communication, what you wear has a lot to say about you. So say something nice”…

What you call fashion and are comfortable in may be a blunder/mistake and embarrassing to the outside world. Going back in time to Discover Your Personal Style-Body Type I shared a few tip to dressing appropriately.

However, what you call fashion/ properly dressed could be a mistake, here’s a few;

Showing Too Much Skin: This is definitely one of the worst fashion mistakes. Showing too much skin, cleavage doesn’t make you look sexy or attractive. If you ask me, it depreciates your worth thereby making you look irresponsible and uncultured. Revealing too much skin as you may believe would attract the opposite sex, but if there is any attention you’ll be getting, it certainly would be the wrong kind.

Bad Fit: Wearing clothes rather too small or too large but definitely do not fit right and bring out the best of your curves could be a fashion mistake.

Jewelry Overload: Without a doubt, jewelries add glamour, spice to an outfit thereby enhancing a look. Overdoing it on the other hand, is one of the worst fashion mistakes and should be avoided otherwise look like a Christmas tree.

Too Much Makeup: Makeup is every ladies recipe. Every woman would want to take her good looks up a notch, but there is definitely a difference between good makeup and blunder. Wearing too much makeup could ruin your good looks and day. While some people may not know when a makeup is over, on the other hand always hook up to keeping it simple, gone are the days for too much makeover. Simplicity is in vogue.

DIY-Natural Skin Care Routine

Hello guys!

After a long talk with a friend on the essence of using natural ingredients for our day to day skin care, I came to a conclusion on why our daily skin beauty products should be replaced with natural skin care ingredients. Did you know that when you use natural products, you are not only beautifying your skin but you are also absorbing antioxidants, therefore enhancing your skin’s UV resistance and stimulating your immune system too. Wow!

Although most people may not realize it, some skin care products can be so tricky these days, contains harmful ingredients, toxins and chemicals which cause a negative health effect.

But not to worry, there is good news. There are natural ways to enhance your skin without needing to buy expensive and commercial products.

There are however, some good ingredients for a natural DIY skin care routine, I’ll be sharing a few.

ALOE-VERA: This is a succulent plant that stores water in it’s leaves, which are thick an fleshy. This can be found in most homes as it grown like flowers. This is a treatment to be it sunburn or a bad case of acne and helps lighten blemishes. Aloe-vera also reduces stretch marks and moisturizes the skin and used also to remove eye makeup, treat minor vaginal irritation, promotes hair growth, reduces dandruff. Thus, the use of aloe-vera cannot be over emphasized as it works virtually for every skin issue.

COCONUT OIL: Apart from moisturizing and hair scalp treatment, coconut oil is a natural product that we can honestly say cures all and is pretty dandy to have around. You can find over one hundred everyday uses of coconut oil. It moisturizes the skin; coconut oil delivers a refreshing, healing moisture that penetrates your skin and heat it, They eradicate fungal infection, it is used as a makeup remover, breath freshner, body lotion, lip balm, makeup brush cleaner, under eye cream, body scrub and ofcourse you can use coconut oil to make your own natural deodorant that works. Mix coconut oil with arrow root powder, corn starch, baking powder and a scented oil for a DIY odor fix.

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR: No doubt, apple cider vinegar can help you step up your beauty routine, this multi-tasking ingredient can be used to prevent pimples and acne, make nail polish last longer. This contains highly beneficial acetic acid and vitamin like potassium and magnesium that boosts liver function and help balance bacteria. On the other hand, apple cider vinegar also tones your skin, if you have an oily skin then this is for you. It kills dandruff thereby making hair shiny and healthy.

AVOCADO: These are rich in healthy fatty acids, many people who eat avocado have found out the wonders it does to their complexion, thus, it contains vitamins and antioxidants that can improve your skin from the inside. Avocado are wonderful for treating saggy skin, it is used as a skin moisturizer.

SHEA-BUTTER: Shea-butter has for many years been used as a natural skin care product in Africa. It is used for moisturizing the skin especially on the dry skin type. Since it is versatile in nature, it can be used for massage, as the best under-eye wrinkle remover and bag reducer, it is also used on scalp to kill dandruff, sore/ raw noses during cold, as lip balm . Shea-butter can also be used before applying makeup for longer stay and also used in place of a shaving cream.

RAW HONEY: Apart from been the healthiest sweetner, honey has tons of skin and hair enhancing benefits. Honey can be used to fight aging, this is loaded with antioxidants and nutrients that moisturize the skin and fight bacteria. It is also used for removing delicate eye makeup, use also to exfoliating your skin atleast once or twice a week. Wash your face from time to time with honey and be sure to be using a raw honey which hasn’t been heat-treated or pasteurized because it contains more active antioxidants for enhancement benefit. For facial cleanser, take half a teaspoon, warm between hand and spread on face gently, leave for 10 minutes then rinse with warm water. For hair conditioner, mix 1 tablespoon raw honey with 2 tablespoon coconut oil, apply thoroughly to the bottom of damp hair, let it sit for 20 minutes and rinse well.

LEMON: Each portion of a lemon fruit, from it’s juice to pulp and peel can be utilized for beauty products whether as a toner, face pack or even a bleaching agent. It is one of the most versatile essential oil as it is used to heal acne and remove black heads, they lighten dark spots and blemishes, whiten teeth, they get rid of oily skin, laundry freshner, face wash and household cleaner. It is also used for anti-aging and remedy dandruff.

On the other hand, you’ve probably noticed how a healthy diet, good sleep, regular exercise and drinking plenty of water can improve someone’s look. With consistent use on the above mentioned natural skin care ingredients and ditching the harsh , man-made products, you definitely will notice or rather have improvements on your skin and will solve all your skin and hair issues.

Easter Preview

Hello guys!

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of Easter? Like my mum would always remind, “Easter is not only a time to wine and dine, this is also a time to reflect on the passion of Jesus Christ, how he had died for our salvation, and so we all should try as much as we can to be like Christ, stay away from sin”.

Easter which is always celebrated on Sunday, according to my faith Jesus was crucified to the cross on Good Friday and rose again on Easter Sunday. Even other traditions, beliefs and religion acknowledge and celebrate this.

Word For Today: "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you". Psalm 32:8

I believe this is a very special day and should be spent and enjoyed well. I’ll be sharing some tips on how to spend the Easter.

Attend Easter Service: Start your Easter by attending the Easter Sunday service as this is a good way to focus on the message of celebration, sermon may vary depending on your church but trust me, every sermon passes same message.

Spend time with Family: Most people have the day off Easter, give yourself a break, travel home to be with family. Go to a restaurant to have an Easter brunch or invite friends and close relatives over for an Easter meal. There is no greater fun.

Take Photos: Making memories can be a fun way to celebrate the holiday. While having brunch, dinner or other fun, take out a camera and take shots to help remember the whole fun.

Easter Egg Hunt: This is the iconic part of Easter, hard boil some eggs and make Easter colour decorations and have some fun with.

What To Wear Issue X Fix It

Hey guys!

Have you ever just looked at your closet, hands on your waist and wondering what to wear? All hanger taken with dresses and shelf all heavy with clothes, yet no outfit to put together? Somehow. Well, your style choice, shopping habit could have a lot to do with this. You are not alone in this, happened to me severally until I discovered how to fix what to wear issue. I’ll be sharing with you.

Too many choices: It’s only natural that when you have too many clothes, you get confused on what to wear and won’t be able to notice cool combos. Try to only keep items you are truly excited about, otherwise dispose.

Bad fits: Sometimes weight fluctuates, you have either gained or loosed weight, you tend to buy clothes that either pinches or oversized and you are entirely uncomfortable in them, this could be a reason you have nothing to wear. Only buy or keep clothes that works for you.

Make prior plans: This could be helpful, make a list of places or activities you’ll have to dress for in advance, make combinations that soothe you before the time, this is one of my favourite things to do, like I told us here. whip up fresh new outfits ahead of time. This works for me all the time.

Uninspired: There are more than enough clothes hanging in your closet but no ideas on how to combine. Go ahead and consult friends or go online, check fashion blog for combination inspiration.

Too many clothes yet nothing to wear

Purchasing habits: Do you do a random shopping? Picking up stand alone pieces? Next time while shopping think about items that will match your closet, consider pieces that fit your style like i told us here. Always shop with an outfit in mind.

Organize outfits: Instead of putting dresses with dresses, pants with pants, try grouping your outfits in your closet, hang tops and skirts next to each other. This could help.

Challenge game: Get creative, challenge yourself, create a sleek new outfit. Turn away from your closet, select clothes randomly no matter what it is, make an outfit and wear it.
