Hey guys!

I trust you all are having a great week. I’m super excited that I’m still here in the northern part of Nigeria (Abuja). For my Nigerian readers, ya’ll already know of the ups and downs in the country (the Biafra thing). Before now, I had thought the NYSC (Blogged here) will automatically be dissolved come October. But God’s love and grace has kept us. No matter the pains,troubles and difficulties in life, we have to be hopeful still right?

I’ve been MIA, but am back full time, I promise.

Let’s dig-in into today’s post…

I’m not the type to use a particular skin care product, except my make-up which consists only of Classic brand-blogged here, but I tried this anyway. I have a natural problem free skin so I never had to worry about anything or using chemicals on my skin. Although one time I started breaking out with nuts on my face (I refer to pimples/boil as nuts) and of all things, really gets me worried and uncomfortable. Yuck!

I did the ‘just give it time’ thing but it was taking too long to clear. At first, I thought it was a sign for the natural ladies phenomenon but it wasn’t, which got me even more worried. I developed a shea-butter routine but didn’t help either. So I decided to ask people and get suggestions, some people said use ‘so and so’ products, others cleanser and develop a skin care routine. I was a bit hesitant especially using cleanser; it’s definitely a thumbs down for me. On the other hand, developing a skin care routine could become a habit and I honestly didn’t want to depend on products/chemicals.

I finally caved in anyway, I did my assignment, did some googling on the basic skin care routine and got to this. Behold! The nuts disappeared and there were slight enhancements on my skin as well.

Beautiful skin requires commitment, not a miracle

I love to explore and try something new especially when the latter starts failing me. (it doesn’t have to be complicated). I also have plans of changing my soap after-all I’m in the spirit of trying something new *smiles*. I plan to give body liquid wash a try, I’ll definitely review here.

Beauty is, being comfortable in your own skin

For skin renewing, I use this St.Ives (collagen & elastin body lotion) but there are lots of options according to your skin type (N2800) which is both affordable and amazing.

St.Ives however, have other products like; visibly clear oil-free facial wash, scrub, cleanser etc. You may want to give it a try for a beginners skin care routine.

DIY-Natural Skin Care Routine

Hello guys!

After a long talk with a friend on the essence of using natural ingredients for our day to day skin care, I came to a conclusion on why our daily skin beauty products should be replaced with natural skin care ingredients. Did you know that when you use natural products, you are not only beautifying your skin but you are also absorbing antioxidants, therefore enhancing your skin’s UV resistance and stimulating your immune system too. Wow!

Although most people may not realize it, some skin care products can be so tricky these days, contains harmful ingredients, toxins and chemicals which cause a negative health effect.

But not to worry, there is good news. There are natural ways to enhance your skin without needing to buy expensive and commercial products.

There are however, some good ingredients for a natural DIY skin care routine, I’ll be sharing a few.

ALOE-VERA: This is a succulent plant that stores water in it’s leaves, which are thick an fleshy. This can be found in most homes as it grown like flowers. This is a treatment to be it sunburn or a bad case of acne and helps lighten blemishes. Aloe-vera also reduces stretch marks and moisturizes the skin and used also to remove eye makeup, treat minor vaginal irritation, promotes hair growth, reduces dandruff. Thus, the use of aloe-vera cannot be over emphasized as it works virtually for every skin issue.

COCONUT OIL: Apart from moisturizing and hair scalp treatment, coconut oil is a natural product that we can honestly say cures all and is pretty dandy to have around. You can find over one hundred everyday uses of coconut oil. It moisturizes the skin; coconut oil delivers a refreshing, healing moisture that penetrates your skin and heat it, They eradicate fungal infection, it is used as a makeup remover, breath freshner, body lotion, lip balm, makeup brush cleaner, under eye cream, body scrub and ofcourse you can use coconut oil to make your own natural deodorant that works. Mix coconut oil with arrow root powder, corn starch, baking powder and a scented oil for a DIY odor fix.

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR: No doubt, apple cider vinegar can help you step up your beauty routine, this multi-tasking ingredient can be used to prevent pimples and acne, make nail polish last longer. This contains highly beneficial acetic acid and vitamin like potassium and magnesium that boosts liver function and help balance bacteria. On the other hand, apple cider vinegar also tones your skin, if you have an oily skin then this is for you. It kills dandruff thereby making hair shiny and healthy.

AVOCADO: These are rich in healthy fatty acids, many people who eat avocado have found out the wonders it does to their complexion, thus, it contains vitamins and antioxidants that can improve your skin from the inside. Avocado are wonderful for treating saggy skin, it is used as a skin moisturizer.

SHEA-BUTTER: Shea-butter has for many years been used as a natural skin care product in Africa. It is used for moisturizing the skin especially on the dry skin type. Since it is versatile in nature, it can be used for massage, as the best under-eye wrinkle remover and bag reducer, it is also used on scalp to kill dandruff, sore/ raw noses during cold, as lip balm . Shea-butter can also be used before applying makeup for longer stay and also used in place of a shaving cream.

RAW HONEY: Apart from been the healthiest sweetner, honey has tons of skin and hair enhancing benefits. Honey can be used to fight aging, this is loaded with antioxidants and nutrients that moisturize the skin and fight bacteria. It is also used for removing delicate eye makeup, use also to exfoliating your skin atleast once or twice a week. Wash your face from time to time with honey and be sure to be using a raw honey which hasn’t been heat-treated or pasteurized because it contains more active antioxidants for enhancement benefit. For facial cleanser, take half a teaspoon, warm between hand and spread on face gently, leave for 10 minutes then rinse with warm water. For hair conditioner, mix 1 tablespoon raw honey with 2 tablespoon coconut oil, apply thoroughly to the bottom of damp hair, let it sit for 20 minutes and rinse well.

LEMON: Each portion of a lemon fruit, from it’s juice to pulp and peel can be utilized for beauty products whether as a toner, face pack or even a bleaching agent. It is one of the most versatile essential oil as it is used to heal acne and remove black heads, they lighten dark spots and blemishes, whiten teeth, they get rid of oily skin, laundry freshner, face wash and household cleaner. It is also used for anti-aging and remedy dandruff.

On the other hand, you’ve probably noticed how a healthy diet, good sleep, regular exercise and drinking plenty of water can improve someone’s look. With consistent use on the above mentioned natural skin care ingredients and ditching the harsh , man-made products, you definitely will notice or rather have improvements on your skin and will solve all your skin and hair issues.

Hey guys,

I trust you all are having a lovely week. Mine has been filled with ice-cream and popcorn. I and my bestie discovered this ice-cream joint and we are gradually becoming regular customers.

Meanwhile a sneak peek into my everyday glamour, a quick beauty post. I’ll be sharing with you guys, my lovely friends 5 items that makes my glamour, my everyday cosmetics. Definitely affordable and works just fine for my skin tone.

Idole Papaya Whitening Facial Soap: This is one classic soap that I can never have enough of. I actually don’t use much on my skin, I have a natural healthy and problem free skin but all I wanted was a well toned skin. I’ve been using this product for over a year and it works just fine for me. This brand lathers really well and also has a nice floral scent. It is definitely affordable and can be purchased in any super store around you.

Easy White (Egg Yolk) Cream: I love this product, a little bit new in the market, it is the only cream that gets my dry skin through, not greasy at all and also has a nice fragrance. I had used skin white naturals whitening lotion(papaya milk) in the past, worked greatly on my skin not until I got a bad one, noticed my skin had gotten dull and was breaking.

Juiced Berry Beauty Rush: This is one perfume that proofs right on, smells like flower and soaks right in. like I told us here it is one thing I can’t do without. This cologne was recommended to me by a friend sometime in August 2016, I purchased the first one on 20^th August 2016 and it lasted till February 2017. And so am recommending this to you guys too, the fragrance is cool, lasts long and affordable too.

Word For Today: Cosmetics should never be used to hide yourself, it should be used to enhance your natural beauty

Rexona (men): I am obsessed with this anti- perspirant. This is one deodorant I don’t do without. It helps me on sweaty days, kills the under arm sweats and keep me dry all day. Yes! For men, I’d prefer the ‘for men’ deodorants anyday.

Silver Rose Flavoured Lip Balm: Yass!! my love affair with wearing lipsticks is definitely nothing to write home about, so on days I don’t feel up to wearing lipsticks, lip balm goes for me. I’ve been using lip balms for years and years. I just love it because it’s not greasy, lasts and works great.

Silver rose lip balm are not so popular, it’s pretty long lasting and the application is real easy and is smooth. Also has this sweet flavour when applied that you’ll be tempted to lick it all off.

I recommend these products, not because they are totally affordable but because they go for all skin type and are of great quality.

Applying False Lashes X Steps To Make It Work

Hey guys!!

Even though I don’t particularly love to wear false lashes, I feel totally uncomfortable wearing them. Like, wearing false lashes comes with plenty of do(s) and don't(s). Wearing false lashes is just something worn occasionally, when I have a big to-go on my go-list but as soon as I get home, it’s off. Am a simple gurl anyway.

KEEP YOUR EYE LASHES LONG & YOUR STANDARDS HIGH

I have never applied false lashes without the lash bands lifting up at the tear duct or fall off before time, they are just heavy and synthetic.

False lashes are absolutely cool and adds a flavour to a makeover, I definitely love the good look when properly applied by a pro. There is this part of me that just don't like seeing lashes on fair ladies, just don't fit for me.

So,If you are either a lash lover or a makeup artist, then here’s a peek of easy steps to apply false lashes so it don’t look all fake.

Step1: Measure

Measure the lash band to create a large individual lash. The strip should start where your natural bulk of eye lashes begin.

Step2: Trim to fit

Always remember, if you have to trim your lashes, do it from the outside edge and don’t cut through the lashes, cut at the vein.

Step3: Add Adhesive (Glue)

From the adhesive applicator, apply from corner to corner, dot a thin layer of glue. Wait a few seconds.

Step4: Apply lashes

Look down and press the lashes against your lash line in the centre, outer edge and inner corner. Press the strip lash down on your natural lashes so it don’t end up with a strip of skin between your lashes and the false lashes. You can either use tweezers or I prefer using finger tips.
